I made a ATAPI CD-ROM Controller. firmware used ver2.5. LCD show "DEVICE" and "DISC Checking" when power on DC+5V. But It hold on "DEVICE" when linking the IDE cable. and the Controller No respond when cd-rom power on. How can I troubleshooting the IDE interface and the controller.

It seems that AT90S8515 and LCD panel are working well. Check the below.

* select Master mode in the back of CD-ROM drive jumper-switch among Master/Slave/CableSelect.

* check the IDE cable connection, 1pin=1pin ... 40pin=40pin, not reverse.

* check CD-ROM drive power supply (+5V,+12V).

* check wiring between AT90S8515 and ATAPI-connector on your board.

* change CD-ROM drive to the another one.
